Cowley College freshman Elena Berroteran (3) defied her 5-feet, 5-inch frame when she went high to record a kill Wednesday night against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in the final match of the regular season at W.S. Scott Auditorium.
Berroteran ranks 12th in Region VI with 257 kills for the No. 2-ranked Lady Tigers, who are host to the D-II District M Tournament.
The top seed, Cowley is scheduled to take on eighth-seeded Coffeyville at 11 a.m. Saturday, at W.S. Scott Auditorium, with the winner facing either Neosho County or Kansas City (Kan.) at 2 p.m. for the district championship.
The champion will head to the NJCAA National Tournament, set for Nov. 20-22 in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
The Tigers have finished in the top five at the national tournament the past four years.
